A Young Magazine, da Kodansha, revelou que Junichi Fujisaku e Hiroki Yoshimoto lançarão um novo Ghost in the Shell intitulado Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm na próxima edição da revista em 20 de setembro. um novo capítulo a cada duas semanas no aplicativo de mangá Comic Days, da Kodansha. Sinopse:
O mangá é definido após o mangá Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor, de Masamune Shirow, e incidirá sobre a Seção 9 após o desaparecimento do major. Em particular, ele se concentrará nas histórias de Togusa, Batou, Azuma, Ishikawa e um recém-chegado da Agência de Canalização chamado Tsunagi. Fujisaku acrescentou que ele está escrevendo a história como se fosse “Ghost in the Shell 1.75”.
Anteriormente, Fujisaku escreveu os scripts para Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex e Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2, e supervisionou o projeto Ghost in the Shell: Arise.
